Dear Clients and Friends
This month’s theme; SECOND, made me think of so many things, the thought that stuck is “ Every SECOND Counts”. What made this specific thought stuck? What makes it so relevant that I actually want to share, write, and feel passionate about my discovery, my realisation.
Allow me a second to share! Second may imply not being the best, second may be “I’ve missed it” Being second might not be good enough. These thoughts and meaning about second is real and it is true, however I looked at it differently and I want to shout out loud – Yay to SECOND!!! What we might not realise is that without a second chance we might not be living the life we suppose to live.
Life gives us second chances; life gives us seconds in which to make choices. Life gives us seconds to change, to reach out, to be there and in which to live. In Lance Armstrong’s book – Every Second Counts he wrote “When you win, you don't examine it very much, except to congratulate yourself. You easily, and wrongly, assume it has something to do with your rare qualities as a person. But winning only measures how hard you've worked and how physically talented you are; it doesn't particularly define you beyond those characteristics.
Losing on the other hand, really does say something about who you are. Among other things it measures: do you blame others, or do you own the loss? Do you analyze your failure, or just complain about bad luck? If you're willing to examine failure, and to look not just at your outward physical performance, but your internal workings, too, losing can be valuable. How you behave in those moments can perhaps be more self-defining than winning could ever be. Sometimes losing shows you for who you really are.”
The setback, the hardship you facing could be your inning into SECOND... if you have faced a set back or hard ship recently and you in your second, congratulate yourself, give yourself praise and acknowledgment not for judging or not for sulking, but for reacting with all that is in you. Everything does not always go as planned, wished or thought, this reality is what makes me believe that there is a good reason for SECOND...
“I believe that a setback can show you who you really are, what you have in you ...”
‘Difficulty’ is the name of an ancient tool that was created to define who we are.....”
